Spot the Odd Emoji is a game aimed at testing its players’ observation skills, visual perception, memory skills and hand-eye coordination under time limits. Based on a range of fun puzzles, the game challenges its users to identify the odd emoji as quickly as possible to receive free rewards. Spot the Odd Emoji is based on the Unity gaming platform and is developed by Umesh Ambaliya.

The challenge

Spot the Odd Emoji’s monetization model was based solely on in-app advertising. However, with one or more ads running at the end of each stage of the game, this had a negative impact on user experience, leading to high rates of user churn.

The solution

Integrating Bright SDK into Spot the Odd Emoji allowed the developers to offer users a free-of-charge, premium, ad-free experience. Bright SDK works in the background and does not display any ads, enabling users to enjoy an uninterrupted gameplay experience.

The outcome

Revenue generated by Bright SDK was the same as the previous ad revenue, while the user experience was vastly improved due to the lack of in-app advertising. As a result, user retention and the user’s lifetime value (LTV) has grown significantly.
