Case study: Pac-Maze
Pac-Maze is a classic, retro game known by anyone who owned an Atari or who enjoyed playing coin-operated game machines in the 1980’s. It is a simple and addictive game, now available on LG Smart TVs.
The challenge
Pac-Maze’s monetization model relied on ads being displayed during gameplay. However, with users subjected to one or more ads at the end of each stage of the game, this had a negative impact on user experience, leading to high rates of user churn.
The solution
Integrating Bright SDK into Pac-Maze allowed the developers to offer users a premium, ad-free experience without asking for payment. Bright SDK works in the background and does not display any ads, enabling users to enjoy an uninterrupted gameplay experience.
The outcome
Revenue generated by Bright SDK was the same or more than the previous ad revenue, while the user experience was vastly improved due to the elimination of in-app advertising. As a result, user retention and the user’s lifetime value (LTV) has grown significantly.
